Moira Jarvis

Moira Jarvis is a freelance artist, teacher and examiner. Trained at Cambridge Art School with an MA in painting from Wimbledon College of Art, she worked for many years as head of art in a London comprehensive school. She now runs workshops in secondary schools for both students and staff. These include dynamic life drawing and developing kinaesthetic and tactile approaches in the classroom.

Her own work is influenced by previous experience as a textile designer and explores the materiality of the ground with the drawn or painted surface. The structure of the landscape is often used as a starting point and this interest is reflected in the structure and mood of the work. View further work at www.southlondonwomenartists.co.uk
